There are two primary forms of communication, one is the forums, and the other is the chatrooms. The following is a list of what you should know to use both of them.
Things to remember...
Literacy - This is a forum community with chat rooms, as well as a text-based role playing game. Therefore using proper spelling, punctuation, and grammar is of the highest importance at all times. No other user should have to “decipher” what you type. Everything should be easily read with little trouble and written in plain English.
Profanity - There will be no profanity or foul language. Any un-called for language will be removed and you will receive a final warning.
Nudity - This includes, but is not limited to any distasteful photographs or images containing explicit imagery. Furthermore, this includes those of a graphic or vulgar nature, which would be deemed unsuitable for a community forum for all ages. First offence will bring a warning to the member; second offence will result in a temporary ban.
Pornography - DO NOT link to porn sites, or any other adult site. If you have to be over 18 to view it, it is NOT allowed here.
Decency - This forum is intended for users over the age of fifteen (15), however users of all ages are able to view the site, therefore persons of a younger age should be taken into consideration when posting content onto the public forums. Therefore it is asked that members use common sense when posting messages.
Flaming - Actions considered as Flaming (the act of being offensive towards others) will not be tolerated, we try to allow people to voice their opinions, and allow for debate, however we do not want to see posts that offend other forum members.
Piracy - DO NOT post request for illegal software, movies, music or other data. Any information relating to piracy activities is strictly forbidden. If you have any question as to the legality of something, DON'T post it.
Racism - Any racist, sexist and other remarks towards a minority or specific group of people, will be deleted and the member shall be warned or banned. The internet is one world, colour or creed is not an issue here! Utilising the Private messaging system for abuse of threats is also frowned upon and action will be taken if the system is abused.
Impersonating - Any impersonation of a user within these forums (or chats), in any mode of communication, is strictly prohibited and will result in a banning.
Spamming - Spamming is not permitted; please keep all your posts as constructive as possible.
Arguing with Staff/Mods/Admin - Users may not argue a moderators decision publicly. Any and all complaints directed at a moderator must first address the moderator in question via PM. If the problem can not be resolved, then the moderator and user must send their positions to the forum admin. The forum admin will make or change any and/or all final decisions.
Sock Puppets - Sock Puppet accounts will not be allowed. A sock puppet is an account made on an internet message board by a person who already has an account for the purpose of posting anonymously. Use your own account for posting personal opinions. Posts from known sock puppet accounts will be deleted and both the puppet and actual account may be banned from using the services of Solaris RPG.
