The Solaris Lexicon
This section will always be a work-in-progress as Solaris RPG is an ever-expanding environment. Arranged in a handy A-Z format, this section explores and explains the creatures, people, families, plants, events and places that make up the lore of Solaris RPG. This section is essential reading for any player of Solaris RPG.
A gigantic snake-like demon with four arms and a serious anger management problem. Abaddon was the right-hand man, uh, beast of Grey Fenrir at one time. Abaddon was first introduced during the events of "The Second Flux" storyline and stuck around in some form until the middle of the "Rain of Chaos" storyline where he was slain by the Templar, Balthazar Silverburg. During Abaddon's time spent under the command of Grey Fenrir, he caused a ruckus multiple times for the citizens of Solaris.
During the "Android Saga" Aika was one of the android assassins from a future planet Solaris who ventured back in time to destroy Solaris City and its inhabitants. Aika was easily the most misleading of the Android Assassins. She as beautiful as she was deadly and used her feminine charms to slay many unsuspecting male warriors of Solaris. Her artificial life and killing spree was eventually ended by an older model android dubbed Quad Zero by his creator Krauser K.. Quad Zero would later take the name "Vincent" and was designed by Krauser to combat the killer androids from the future.
One of the two binary stars in the Solarian solar system. Alpha is a yellow hyper giant star of incredibly high-mass. Alpha resides close enough to Omega that the two stars are touching one another. The twin stars feed off one another in what appears to be a long winded 300,000-year cycle. Every 300,000 years a mysterious shift occurs, and the smaller star begins consuming the slightly larger star. The two stars have continued this process for billions of years, and there doesn't seem to be an end in sight.
Almost every traumatic event to happen to the citizens of Solaris has been in some form or another caused by the dark entity known only as Bahumura. Some believe that this entity has been around since shortly after the beginning of Solarian time, while others believe he's just a powerful demon spirit filled with hatred for the living. Nearly all of the major storyline events in the history of the game can be traced back to this single evil being. The character has existed as long as the game itself and has taken on several different forms. His most recent incarnation is that of a hazy fog with glowing red eyes, having lost his physical form during the events of "The Undoing" storyline. The only thing that is certain for this character is that he will continue to plague the citizens of Solaris for the foreseeable future as no one has ever been able to stop him.
During the "Android Saga" Barron was one of the android assassins from a future planet Solaris who ventured back in time to destroy Solaris City and its inhabitants. Barron was the largest and nearly the strongest of the android assassins. It was clear that Barron had a glitch which made him seem dimwitted. Even though he was super strong and adamant, he eventually fell to the collective efforts of several Solarian champions who teamed up to take him down. Barron didn't go down without causing some collateral damage, however. He self-destructed after having been heavily damaged and nearly took out the Sunfire Tavern.
Various species of Solarian creatures who were "hyper-evolved" by the nanobots that reside within the atmosphere of planet Solaris. Not all species are capable of becoming higher functional Beastkin. The home city of the Beastkin race is the huge sentient tree-city known only as Ylelthaes. There are many random types of Beastkin, including the Pontons, Kratons, Patherians, and Ratkin. This guide will cover many of the different species of Beastkin.
The Builders, originally the Da'Kari, are enormous (often thirty feet in height or more) beings who are believed to be synthetic in origin. The beings have semi-translucent skin, often filled with blue or green bioluminescence. The Da'Kari are incredibly wise and it is believed they were engineered to never age and die. The leader of the Da'Kari is a being known only as Dakon by modern Solarians. It is believed by many cultures that Dakon and his Builders were responsible for creating the solar system, the planets, and the binary stars using highly advanced technology provided to them by the Gods of the Nomaverse, Noma and Obel. How it all worked and how it came together is a mystery, but many scientists of Solaris believe that the technology is still somewhere on (or in) planet Solaris.
A rare, deep planet metallic element. Cie is often used to create a special Cie-based alloy that is well known for being the strongest and most durable metal in the Solaris multiverse. It is also capable of producing catastrophic amounts of energy under the right conditions. Throughout the history of Solaris Cie has been used to make some of the most powerful explosive devices. In a future timeline, a single Cie bomb no larger than a soccer ball destroyed an entire planet.
The royal family of a highly advanced race of birdkins who live in the Mountainous Region of planet Solaris. The leader of the Cloudstriders is Giran, and the founding father of the Cloudstriders was Girak Luhia, who was from a future timeline of Solaris. The Cloudstriders came to power when Girak taught the birdkin race the ways of the future world. He brought with him technology and information that was unheard of in the present times. He became a powerful leader and his people designed and built an enormous city in the mountains, above the clouds. Eventually Girak found a mate and together they had a son, Giran. When Girak passed away, Giran took over in his place and now wields the vast power of the mountain city. So far, no Elyndrian has ever set foot in the massive sky city. No one knows the name of this glorious city either.
A dark imperial stout created using fermented Firma grass. It was created by a commerce house in Valen'venar. It is high in ABV to help endure its voyage across the plains region to many of its distributors in other regions. There is no better drink for a long adventure than this imperial stout.
During the "Android Saga" Dyne was the leader of the group of android assassins from a future planet of Solaris who ventured back in time to destroy Solaris City and its inhabitants. Dyne was incredibly powerful and filled with evil intentions by his creator. He ruthlessly murdered many citizens of Solaris City. Dyne was eventually taken down by Vincent with the help of Zed, another friendly android created by Krauser K.. Dyne didn't go down easily, and during the battle, Zed was nearly destroyed. By the end of it, Zed gave his twin power cells to Vincent and shut down permanently.
The word used to describe the people of Elyndaar City, which is located in the central Osperian Region of planet Solaris. The Elyndrians are a common sight in the Osperian Region, and pretty much everywhere else in the world. They are not of a particular race or species and are often seen as the driving force behind many world changing events. They are responsible for protecting the world from the armies of Grey Fenrir, Queen Vishera, General Balthazar, the demons of the Afterplane, and any other threats both of this world and the next. The Elyndrians are the defenders of the land and the innocent people of the world. Krauser K. often refers to the Elyndrians as his people. He was responsible for the creation of Elyndrel Village, and Elyndaar City. He does not see himself as a leader, but a guide. He often nudges the Elyndrians on a path, usually in the defense of planet Solaris. Are you an Elyndrian? You might be.
Large indigenous grass plant growing widely across the plains region of Solaris and scattered across most other regions as well. It has a stocky inflorescence creating large broad ovate seeds. It was first domesticated by ancient solarians and was a staple food source more many millennia.
During the "Android Sage" Kanon was one of the android assassins from a future planet Solaris who ventured back in time to destroyed Solaris City and its inhabitants. Kanon was a medium sized android who was nearly always silent and well armed with a powerful cannon built into his right arm that could unleash a volley of powerful blasts. Many innocent Solarians were slain by this weapon before Kanon was defeated by a group of Solarian champions. The champions salvaged his power cell and gave it to the friendly android Quad Zero to boost his overall power. Quad Zero was built by Krauser K. to help take down the android assassins from the future.
Lord of the most well-known brood of dragons, the Thunderwings, Kelthuron has existed in the game since the middle of "The Second Flux" storyline and is still an active storyline character. He has always been and always will be a protector, first and foremost to his brood, but also to the citizens of Solaris. On a handful of occasions, some of the darker citizens of Solaris have confronted the dragon lord only to be magically transported to the other side of the world. Lord Kelthuron has no patience for trouble makers. He is a figurehead of guidance and support for anyone who seeks him out.
The Killener family's origins are somewhat of a mystery. Most know that the father of Krauser, Deus Killener, was about a crazy as they come. Deus is responsible for many of the future tragedies, even the destruction of an entire world with the utilization of a Cie Bomb. Before Deus however, things get hazy. We know that the Watcher Oobu was a Killener, and that was partly to blame for Krauser's interests in the League of Watchers. We also know that Oomaru of Earth Realm was a distant member of the Killener bloodline. The Killener line is a long one, and they've been going head to head with the Fenrir family for centuries. What initially started the war between families isn't certain, but even today they still hate one another. The Killener line has been responsible for much of the technology used on planet Solaris in modern times.
It is believed by many Solarian scientists that when the Builders first seeded life on planet Solaris they realized the harsh conditions (extreme climates, crushing gravity, etc...) were too hostile for life. To give life a fighting chance, the leader of the Builders, Dakon, released trillions of nanobots into the atmosphere of planet Solaris. These nanobots have been a staple of Solarian lore since the beginning. The nanobots force a fast paced hyper-evolution in all lifeforms. Not only did they enhance the early species of Solaris and eventually any life who came to Solaris, but the Solarians themselves hyper-evolved from an old world species and became the most prominent race of beings on the planet. One of the side-effects of the nanobots is the ample production of magical energy.
One of the two binary stars in the Solarian solar system. Omega is a white hypergiant of incredibly high-mass. It resides close enough to Alpha that it consumes its sibling for a period of 300,000 years. Whichever of the two stars is smaller will suddenly begin consuming the larger star and vice versa. The two stars have continued this process for billions of years with no end in sight.
Portals are created by powerful magic users who wish to quickly move from one location to another. Portals are often used for quick travel from one wordly location to the next, but in recent times portals have been used to hop from one planet to the next in the local solar system. It is widely believed that with enough power the possibilities of portal jumping are limitless. Wizards of Solaris often create portals for helping their allies move from one location to the next. When a Wizard needs to move only himself, he'll often simply do a solo teleportation instead of creating an entire portal.
Rifts are created when powerful magic users create a dimensional bridge between two separate dimensions. A rift is unique to a standard portal in that respect, as portals tend to take you from one location to another within the same dimension. Necromancers of Solaris often create dimensional rifts, usually to the planes of death. The Shadowgate located in the Swamp Region which leads to the Afterplane is an example of a dimensional rift, rather than a portal.
The most popular native humanoid race to inhabit planet Solaris. It is believed by many that they were created by a race of semi-mechanical giant beings known as the Da'Kari (a.k.a. the Builders). The Solarians gain strength and even regrow missing body parts from mysterious solar radiation provided the binary stars (Alpha and Omega) of the solar system. Many Solarians can go for days without eating due to the energy provided to them by the solar radiation. The race is resourceful and highly intelligent.
Solaris is the name of the planet where everything in Solaris RPG occurs. It is an absolutely massive planet, roughly 373,110 miles in circumference. Common belief is that the core of planet Solaris is made up entirely of molten cie. The planet is incredibly dense with a mass of roughly 99 sextillion tons. The planet orbits a binary star system. It's gravity is incredibly strong.
A friendly android created by Krauser K. during the "Android Saga" to help defeat a group of killer androids from a future version of Solaris. Vincent was the first android ever created by Krauser and had a partner named Zed who was later defeated while battling the evil android Dyne. Vincent was frequently referred to as "Quad Zero" because of his production number. He is the only remaining android from the period and took on the self-titled role of Planetary Guardian after "The Undoing" storyline happened.
