From its inception in 1996 to the present day, this chronological overview chronicles the major storylines that have shaped Solaris RPG. This guide is regularly updated as new chapters in our shared narrative unfold.

Table of Contents

The Great War (1996)

The original storyline centered on valiant knights defending their homeland during widespread conflict. The legendary Sunfire Tavern became the heart of resistance, where heroes including the Omni Knight, Xeno Knight, and Rainbow Knight gathered alongside the formidable swordsman Kain Tallinger and the silent fighter Zero. Their exploits in repelling border raids and striking enemy encampments became legendary. Opposing them, Vegonian General Grey Fenrir emerged as the primary antagonist, his tactical brilliance and supernatural combat prowess making him nearly unbeatable. Grey led systematic assaults against Elyndrian society while secretly serving a malevolent entity known as Bahumura, whose dark influence worked through Grey to corrupt the land itself, planting seeds of discord that would shape events across Solaris for decades to come.

Dark Vander Saga (1998)

Following a period of uneasy peace, a mysterious warrior named Vander emerged, his origins and motives unknown. Clad in shadow-absorbing armor, Vander moved through settlements with calculated precision, isolating victims before striking with lethal efficiency. This era witnessed more player character deaths than any other period in Solaris history, as respected champions and companions alike fell to his blade. Communities responded with increased guards and group travel, yet Vander possessed an uncanny awareness that helped him evade capture. Unlike conventional adversaries seeking glory or conquest, he appeared motivated solely by the act of killing, treating each murder as art. As suddenly as he appeared, Vander vanished without explanation, leaving behind no clues to his identity—only a legacy of destruction, collective trauma, and an unprecedented level of player versus player conflict.

Future Crisis (1999)

The realm was thrown into turmoil when artificial soldiers from an alternate future timeline appeared without warning. Led by Dyne and Zed, these invaders systematically targeted settlements across Solaris, their advanced weaponry leaving devastation as they moved toward Solaris City. Armed with technology centuries beyond current understanding, these invaders posed a threat even the most powerful warriors struggled to overcome. Hope arrived when Vincent, a security android from the same alternate future, emerged to oppose his timeline counterparts. Standing over seven feet tall with distinctive armor and an analytical combat approach, Vincent provided crucial intelligence about the invaders' capabilities. By implementing Vincent's strategic insights, the Elyndrians eventually prevailed in a confrontation that left parts of Solaris City in ruins but secured salvaged future technology that scientists studied to develop the first Mechanoids, forever changing Solarian society.

The Second Flux (2003)

Catastrophe struck when three enigmatic beings, believed to be Watchers sent by the primordial deity Obel'jon, appeared at equidistant points around Solaris. Their arrival triggered a cataclysmic wave of energy—the Flux—that engulfed the entire world. Though their true motives remained shrouded in mystery, witnesses reported the beings observing the unfolding destruction with detached calculation. Facing extinction, a band of Elyndrians received mere hours of warning through cryptic visions and gathered at the Arena—a marvel of advanced technology capable of collapsing into a tiny cube. As the Flux wave approached, the changeling Lumione activated emergency protocols, compressing the Arena with all refugees inside before transporting them through dimensional barriers to the Void Realm. They later emerged to discover a transformed Solaris—geographically the same but reset to a clean slate and thrust thousands of years into the future, presenting both the opportunity and challenge of building a new society from scratch.

Wrath of the Neolarians (2006)

As Elyndrians diligently rebuilt civilization across the reset world, their peace was shattered when massive ships darkened the skies—the return of the Western Solarians, now calling themselves Neolarians. These former neighbors had escaped the Second Flux by launching crude space vessels beyond Solaris' atmosphere. Through millennia of interstellar wandering, they evolved both technologically and culturally, developing advanced weaponry and a societal grudge that spanned generations. Returning with overwhelming firepower and burning resentment, these exiles blamed the Elyndrians for the Flux that destroyed their ancestral home. As Neolarian strikes devastated newly built settlements, Krauser Killener formulated a desperate plan with Ryu Verak and the android Vincent. This trio infiltrated the colossal Neolarian mothership and activated a powerful Ciedium bomb that triggered a catastrophic chain reaction. Though successful, the mission had devastating consequences as the massive mothership crashed into Solaris, generating earthquakes and tsunamis that obliterated the world the Elyndrians had labored to restore.

The Undoing (2009)

Facing a second planetary destruction as the Neolarian mothership crashed into Solaris, the Elyndrians found salvation through Krauser Killener, a Watcher who defied Obel'jon's wishes. In a dramatic act of cosmic defiance, Krauser channeled immense powers to tear open the fabric of time itself, calcifying into stone as the last survivors were transported 30,000 years into the past. Arriving in this primordial era, the displaced Elyndrians established Elyndrel Village amid the untamed wilderness of ancient Solaris. Their peace was interrupted by the arrival of Crighton—Krauser's long-lost son previously banished into the past by Bahumura. In a poignant reunion beside his father's petrified form, Crighton performed a ritual of familial sacrifice, trading his life force for Krauser's freedom. The restored Krauser revealed devastating news—their ancient enemies Grey Fenrir and Bahumura had also escaped to this distant past with a 5,000-year head start, during which Grey had corrupted the nascent Vegonian civilization into the formidable Black Empire that now threatened the fledgling Elyndrian settlement.

Age of the Ancients (2011)

The aftermath of The Undoing presented a pristine world awaiting definition. With Elyndrel Village established as their central hub, the time-displaced survivors began exploring this ancient version of their familiar world, mapping coastlines that would later become Xhan Tarn Beach, scaling the young Skyhold Mountains, and charting the nascent forests that would grow into the mighty Osperian Forest. With unprecedented freedom to shape Solaris, scholars established the first libraries to preserve knowledge from the future, while architects designed structures that harmonized with the primeval landscape. Diplomatic missions encountered indigenous species and proto-civilizations, forging alliances that would evolve into the complex cultural tapestry of later eras. Leaders like Vincent and Ryu Verak implemented technologies from their original timeline with careful consideration for their impact. In a paradoxical twist of cosmic irony, the time-traveling Elyndrians unwittingly became the legendary "Ancients" whose exploits they had once celebrated in stories from their original timeline—their advanced knowledge and abilities becoming the myths and legends that would inspire their own ancestors thousands of years later.

Rain of Chaos (2012)

The mighty Pandemonium Fortress—a floating citadel harnessing creation energies—exploded in a cataclysmic event that forever altered Solaris. For weeks, corrupted chaos shards infused with Bahumura's malevolent essence rained down across the world, transforming landscapes and waters. Wildlife that contacted these fragments underwent horrific mutations, growing additional limbs, increasing to monstrous sizes, or developing unnatural abilities. The catastrophe fundamentally changed Solaris' magical field, rendering once-common abilities like flight, teleportation, and elemental manipulation impossible or dangerously unstable. Renowned scholar Kwin Alexander Dark theorized that Bahumura had deliberately corrupted these energies to handicap the Elyndrians' advantages. Working with master artificer Drake Raven in a laboratory beneath Elyndrel Village, Kwin developed methods to safely channel the altered forces, creating focusing crystals, channeling amulets, and stabilizing runes that partially restored these lost capabilities. These "Dark-Raven artifacts" became highly prized possessions, transforming both the economy and power dynamics of a society adapting to its new metaphysical constraints.

Rise of the Vegonians (2014)

As communities adapted to the profound changes brought by the Rain of Chaos, an ancient threat resurfaced. Beyond the Kazarial Desert's shifting sands, the Vegonian race underwent a dark transformation. Once proud and honorable, they had fallen under Grey Fenrir's corrupting influence during his 5,000-year head start in this timeline. Through charismatic leadership, technological superiority, and Bahumura's insidious power, Grey reshaped their culture into a brutally efficient military society dedicated to annihilating the Elyndrians. Warriors underwent rigorous combat training from childhood, while engineers developed siege weapons capable of breaching the strongest defenses. Their settlements evolved into fortified war camps, with resources dedicated almost exclusively to building an unprecedented army. Meanwhile, across the continent, the peaceful settlements of Elyndrel and Roshema flourished in blissful ignorance. Their markets bustled with traders, scholars documented the post-Chaos world's new species, and citizens welcomed dimensional travelers. Despite occasional warnings from scouts reporting unusual activities in the west, most Elyndrians remained focused on rebuilding their society, unaware that Grey Fenrir had already set in motion a campaign designed to eradicate them once and for all.

Vengeful Heart of Winter (2015)

While the Vegonian threat gathered in the west, disaster struck from the south when the once-noble Dragonkin Queen Vishera fell to Grey Fenrir's corrupting influence. The corruption manifested as crystalline growths across her scales and a purple glow in her once-golden eyes. From her throne at the World's Edge, Vishera unleashed a devastating superstorm that spread northward, burying settlements in unnatural blizzards and unleashing ice wraiths that hunted travelers. A brave contingent of Elyndrians led by Drake Raven journeyed through harsh conditions to confront this threat, battling through treacherous mountain passes before reaching Vishera's fortress. After defeating her formidable guardian Jorgrun, a frost giant whose ice axe had claimed countless lives, the Elyndrians faced the corrupted queen herself, only to find themselves outmatched by her draconic might. As defeat seemed imminent, Lord Kelthuron of the Thunderwing brood and General Lothuron arrived unexpectedly with battle-ready Dragonkin reinforcements. Their timely intervention turned the tide, allowing them to subdue rather than execute Vishera, recognizing her as a victim of Grey's manipulation. The Dragonkin lords took her to their stronghold in the Skyhold Mountains to begin the process of cleansing the corruption and restoring her former nobility.

Age of Explorers (2016)

Following the winter crisis, the Elyndrians established Elyndaar City in the southern reaches of the great Osperian Forest. Built around a central security tower, this magnificent settlement featured structures of living wood interwoven with crystalline spires that channeled post-Chaos magical energies. The city quickly became the central hub for adventurers and scholars from across the world, with security maintained by an advanced army of Mechanoids crafted by Andorum Laboratories and supervised by the android Vincent. Outside the protected territories, the once-mighty Vegonians had been reduced to scattered groups in isolated regions, their military might shattered and their society fragmented without Grey Fenrir's unifying presence. With major threats suppressed, this era became ideal for exploration. The newly established Guild of Pathfinders issued charters to adventurers who ventured into uncharted territories like the Dormuzahn Isles and Darkmire Swamp, establishing diplomatic relations with diverse cultures that had developed in isolation since the Rain of Chaos. These discoveries expanded Elyndrian influence and laid the groundwork for the alliance network that would define Solaris' political landscape for generations to come.

Korbgrad Rises (2018)

Despite previous defeats, Grey Fenrir dispatched the Black Empire's forces to the northern Hinterlands under General Raynar's command. In a devastating attack, Imperial Gorgons assaulted Mothertree Ylelthaeus—the sacred heart of Grovekin civilization. The invaders salted the earth and burned the ancient tree before sufficient defenses could be mounted. Though some Elyndrians attempted to help, their efforts came too late, creating a bitter divide between the two peoples. This strategic victory allowed General Raynar to claim the region and establish Korbgrad, which grew into the largest Gorgonian stronghold on Solaris. Meanwhile, the displaced Hinterfolk fled southward under their vengeful Queen Yasmine, harboring resentment toward both conquerors and former allies alike. The fall of the Mothertree became a pivotal moment in Solarian history, symbolizing the fragility of even the most ancient and revered institutions when faced with the strategic brutality of the Black Empire. Korbgrad's architecture reflected its violent origins, with buildings constructed from the charred remains of the once-sacred grove and fortifications designed specifically to repel the nature-based attacks favored by Grovekin warriors. General Raynar established a military dictatorship that prioritized defensive capabilities above all else, creating a fortress city that would withstand multiple sieges in the years to come.

Siege of Vegonaar (2020)

When Grey Fenrir, Queen Vishera, and Bahumura mysteriously vanished, the world recognized a critical opportunity. Armies united with the Elyndrians to launch a decisive campaign against the leaderless Black Empire. The combined forces clashed in an epic confrontation at the heart of the Blasted Region, with even General Raynar surprisingly turning against his former masters. The battle proved decisive, shattering the Vegonian forces and sending the few survivors fleeing into the harsh Kazarial Desert. In victory's aftermath, Queen Yasmine's Grovekin claimed the devastated lands, using powerful nature magic to transform the wasteland into a verdant paradise renamed the Wildlands. However, hardened by experience, Yasmine established a policy of strict isolation, making her restored realm potentially more dangerous to travelers than it had been under the Black Empire's rule. The transformation of the Blasted Region into the Wildlands became one of the most remarkable ecological recoveries in Solarian history, as Grovekin druids worked tirelessly to cleanse the soil of corrupting influences and reintroduce native plant species. Despite the outward beauty of this transformed landscape, travelers soon discovered that Queen Yasmine had imbued the very flora with defensive consciousness, creating a natural barrier of sentient plants programmed to recognize and allow passage only to those of Grovekin heritage.

The Dark Avatar (2021)

The mystery of Grey Fenrir, Vishera, and Bahumura's disappearance was finally revealed—they had discovered the dormant body of Dakon, leader of the godlike Builders who created Solaris. In his quest for power, Bahumura possessed Dakon's body, nearly killed Vishera, and stole a massive Builder Vessel spaceship. After crash-landing on planet Gorgonia, a confrontation with the Beast God Sunder and Builder Val'mir forced Bahumura from Dakon's body, only for Val'mir to become possessed immediately afterward, creating the terrifying entity known as the Dark Avatar. Following a desperate battle, the Elyndrians managed to escape through a portal back to Elyndaar City with the freed Dakon, who fell into an unexplained dormant state upon their return to Solaris, leaving Bahumura's Dark Avatar temporarily stranded on distant Gorgonia. The revelation of the Builders' existence fundamentally changed Solarian cosmology, proving that the world itself was an artificial construction rather than a natural planet. Scholars struggled to reconcile this new understanding with traditional creation myths, while religious leaders faced crises of faith as congregations questioned the nature of divinity in a designed universe. Meanwhile, those who had encountered the Dark Avatar spoke of a terrifying fusion of Builder technology and Bahumura's ancient malice—a being capable of reshaping matter with a thought and commanding the very elements through technological means indistinguishable from godlike magic.

Chains of Lucia (2022)

Following the Black Empire's defeat, the Dark Avatar's devastation across Solaris forced the Elyndrians to pursue Bahumura through dimensional gateways discovered in Gorgonia's Timeworn Vault. Their chase led from the material world through the Afterplane and into the Infernal Chasm, where Bahumura defeated Lord Vol'nash and claimed his divine Burning Blade. With this weapon, he tore open a passage to the Void Realm and pressed onward to Primordia, the sacred center of the Nomaverse where Noma dwells. As the Elyndrians followed with aid from cosmic allies, Bahumura reached Primordia's boundaries and abandoned Val'mir's body to assume his pure form—a fatal miscalculation. Lucia, Guardian of God's Altar, sprung a centuries-old trap, binding Bahumura within the very altar he sought to corrupt while Val'mir escaped his torment. Though peace returned to the cosmos, vigilant guardians maintain their watch, knowing that for beings of such power, eternal imprisonment rarely proves truly eternal. The journey through dimensional planes exposed the Elyndrians to cosmic truths beyond mortal comprehension, forever altering their understanding of reality itself. Those who returned spoke of entire universes suspended like dewdrops on an infinite web, of civilizations existing simultaneously across multiple timelines, and of primordial entities whose mere attention could obliterate entire dimensions.

The World Below (2023)

The fragile peace shattered when Queen Yasmine unleashed a biological nightmare across Solaris, besieging major cities with Plagueblooms, Sporelings, and horrific plant abominations. As the Elyndrians defended population centers, they observed citizens mutating into Podlings migrating en masse toward the Wildlands. Pursuing these transformed beings, the Elyndrians discovered an enormous fissure guarded by Vardtrad, a corrupted Grovekin Titan under Yasmine's control. After defeating the massive tree-folk guardian, they uncovered a vast tunnel leading to the World Below—an inner realm of Solaris with its own ecosystem illuminated by glowing ciedium deposits. Joined by Valmir and Dakon, the Elyndrians ventured deeper, seeking Yasmine but instead confronting Shaogog, a primordial entity claiming to be "The First One" who inhabited Solaris before the Builders' arrival. This ancient, plantlike monstrosity possessed knowledge of the planet's earliest history and posed an existential threat to all Builder-created races. In the ensuing confrontation, Dakon sacrificed himself to defeat Shaogog while Valmir helped the surviving Elyndrians escape, though their flight unexpectedly stranded them on the mysterious distant world of Zetha Prime. The discovery of the World Below revealed that Solaris was not merely a planet but a layered construct with multiple interconnected realms, challenging fundamental assumptions about the Builders' intentions and capabilities.

Stormdraven's Legacy (2024)

Stranded on the alien world of Zetha Prime following their desperate escape through the Builder Gateway, the Elyndrians faced an uncertain future as Valmir powered down from battle damage sustained during the confrontation with Shaogog. Krauser Killener's knowledge of temporal connections led them to seek out Wissac Stormdraven—a legendary aerial combat master among the shapeshifting Zethans and ancestor to Ariptor Stormdraven from Future Solaris. Upon their meeting in the shimmering metropolis of Gearrr, Wissac recognized the cosmic significance of their arrival and became their steadfast advocate to Queen Anya. Drawing upon his unparalleled familiarity with Zetha Prime's treacherous atmospheric conditions, Wissac personally guided the Elyndrians through the volatile windstorms of the crystalline Zethan Wilds to a location long shrouded in local legend—an ancient Builder Temple that his own exploratory flights had discovered years before but whose purpose remained a mystery. Within this immutable structure, Wissac's technical insights proved crucial in helping the Elyndrians activate the dormant Builder Gateway housed inside. His diplomatic efforts also secured Queen Anya's pledge to maintain this newfound connection between worlds, creating a permanent alliance that promised new opportunities for both civilizations long after the Elyndrians returned home to Solaris.

Legacy of the Builders (2025)

Shortly after returning from Zetha Prime with the rescued and newly reawakened Valmir, the Elyndrians received disturbing reports from Ardanian ambassadors. The energy released during Dakon's sacrifice against Shaogog had awakened a dormant Builder installation hidden within Ardanor's Crystal Caverns. Ardanian shamans discovered the suddenly luminous crystals could grant them ancient Builder knowledge, which they used to create enhanced "Frostforged" warriors with blue-veined skin and unprecedented abilities. Valmir immediately recognized the installation's activation signature and warned of its dangerous implications—if fully operational, the facility's planetary reclamation protocols would reshape Ardanor while rendering neighboring worlds temporarily uninhabitable. The threat escalated when Jarl Heimdal of Clan Frostblood seized the central chamber and began constructing Builder components according to visions from the crystals, unaware he was assembling a planetary reclamation engine. The Elyndrians must now navigate Ardanor's treacherous clan politics to deactivate the installation before its automated protocols trigger a cascade of similar activations across multiple worlds, potentially undoing millennia of natural evolution. This current crisis represents the culmination of multiple storylines, as the consequences of Dakon's sacrifice, the Builders' ancient technologies, and the complex web of interplanetary relations all converge in a race against time to prevent catastrophic transformation of the known worlds.
